Common use of Random Selection Testing Clause in Contracts

Random Selection Testing. Should the Employer elect, Employees shall be subject to random testing. All officers will be assigned a confidential identification number and will be in a separate pool for testing consisting only of police officers. The identification numbers of all officers will be entered into a computer. Once each calendar month, the computer will select one (1) of the entered identification numbers. That identification number will then be forwarded to the Chief. The Chief will then match the selected number against a master list in the presence of at least one Union representative. Notification of screening will then be made the next time the employee is working so that screening is not compromised.
