Rate of Pay on Voluntary Demotion. The hourly pay equity rate of pay of an Employee who accepts a position in a lower paid classification shall remain the same if the hourly pay equity rate exists within the new pay band. If no such pay equity rate of pay exists, the Employee’s hourly pay equity rate of pay shall be placed at the step next below the Employee’s current hourly pay equity rate of pay.

Rate of Pay on Voluntary Demotion. Where a non-probationary employee voluntarily applies for a demotion within the program from one classification to another; and has completed more than one year of service; her salary shall be the new classification as per the years of service.

  • Rate of Pay on Promotion 44.3.1 When an employee is appointed by the Council to a higher classification level in the same group, he shall be paid at the nearest rate in the new classification level which gives the employee a salary increase not less than the minimum increment of the higher classification level to which he is being appointed by the Council.   • Voluntary Demotion or Voluntary Reduction in Hours An employee has a right to his regularly assigned time, and shall not have it involuntarily reduced. Employees who take voluntary demotions or voluntary reductions in assigned time in lieu of layoff shall be, at the employee’s option, returned to a position in their former class or to present former positions with increased assigned time as vacancies become available, for a period of five (5) years and three (3) months, except that they shall be ranked in accordance with their seniority on any valid reemployment list.
