Rates and Benefits. The Company will notify the truck owner or the xxxxxxx of the rates before the start of the haul. Truck owners and truck drivers will be paid for indoctrination sessions that take place at the start of every year to a maximum of two truck drivers per truck at the truck driver rate. The Company will reimburse the truck owner annually for tree length permits, if required, at a rate of 80%. The Company agrees to reimburse truck drivers every year $125.00 plus HST per year per pair of safety boots, upon proof of purchase, to a maximum of one pair per year per truck driver. The Company agrees to reimburse truck drivers every two years a total of $100.00 plus HST, to be used for prescription safety glasses, upon proof of purchase, to a maximum of two drivers per owner. The Company shall supply adequate safety gloves or mitts on an exchange basis. Effective October 1, 2021 the base truck rate, including pay in lieu of benefits, will be $107.50 per hour. Effective October 1, 2022, increase to $109.65; Effective October 1, 2023, increase to $111.84; Effective October 1, 2024, increase to $114.08; Company will compensate for all tonnes hauled. Hauling rates will be per tonne based on round trip times multiplied by the truck rate (which includes benefits) per hour (before fuel adjustment) divided by: • 38 tonnes per load highway trailer before 10% winter allowance. • 40 tonnes per load highway trailer when 10% winter allowance is applicable. • 43 tonnes per load highway trailer off road. • 38 tonnes per load on the highway and 42 tonnes per load off-highway for self-loading trailers. For the purposes of establishing round trip times 30% of the target cycles over and under will be used. Weight caps on the highway will be as per MTO legal GVWR including the 10% winter allowance when applicable. Should the Company use the Excel yard for the purpose of stock piling saw timber from the Excel Third Party operations with the intent of later delivering this volume to another mill, the truck owners governed under this letter of understanding will be first offered to haul this volume.
