Reappointment After Resignation. The parties mutually agree that having a Reappointment Program is beneficial in filling vacancies. Reappointment to the Department without taking another departmental entrance exam shall be granted to an employee who has previously voluntarily resigned in good standing from the Department on the following basis: • A vacancy exists for the entry-level position of firefighter. • The resignation occurred within the past 180 days. • The employee's required certifications are still active and current. • The employee begins as a probationary employee, regardless of prior tenure, with no seniority applied. • Lateral entry for placement on the Fire Pay Plan will not be considered in this case. • A review committee comprised of members of Fire Administration and the Forney Professional Firefighters Association (FPFFA) will make a determination on the previous employees' reappointment eligibility based on parameters developed and published jointly by the two groups, and make a recommendation to the Human Resources Director.
