Reclassification at a Lower Level. If an employee is reclassified to a lower level and their current salary is higher than the maximum rate of the lower level, the employee’s salary shall remain unchanged until such a time as the maximum rate of the new pay level equals or surpasses the employee’s current salary. The employee will then be paid in accordance with Appendix “C”. If the reclassified employee’s current salary falls within the range of the new lower level, the new rate will be the former rate received. The employee shall continue to advance to the maximum rate of the new pay level in accordance with Article 10.4, “Increments”.
