Recognized HolidayIf an employee hired under the “On Call” schedule is specifically instructed and required by Producer to perform work on a recognized holiday on distant location, under the direction and control of Producer, Producer shall pay such employee one-sixth (1/6) of his “on call” weekly salary in effect for each such recognized holiday so worked. Said amount shall be payable not later than the second Thursday following the employee’s return to the studio.
Recognized Holiday. The following days qualify as a holiday for the purposes of applying the holiday provisions of this article. No employees shall be unreasonably denied holiday leave requests to work on holidays in the following list. To be eligible for holiday pay, the employee must work scheduled shifts immediately preceding and following the recognized holiday. Holidays Qualifying for Premium Pay if Assigned and Worked: • New Year’s Day • MLK Jr Day • Presidents Day • Memorial DayIndependence DayLabor DayThanksgiving DayChristmas Day The Employer shall publish an annual list of the actual date of observance of the holidays listed above, if different from the calendar holiday.
Recognized Holiday. The number of Recognized Holidays under this Article will not be increased unless and until the number of holidays listed in the definition ofgeneral holidays” under Part III of the Canada Labour Code exceeds 12. All above Recognized Holidays shall be treated for pay purposes as those which are included in the Canada Labour Code as General Holidays.
Recognized HolidayThe parties have agreed to add a twelfth recognized holiday as agreed to in the BCMEA – ILWU Canada Collective Agreement effective 2020. Any additional holidays legislated by either the Federal or Provincial Government will not be considered as Recognized Holidays during the Term of the Collective Agreement.

Recognized Holiday. 14.1 The following days are recognized holidays: New Year’s Day Thanksgiving Day Family Day Remembrance Day Good Friday Christmas Day Victoria Day Boxing Day Labour Day Heritage Day Canada Day and any other day proclaimed as a general holiday by the Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments. 14.2 In order to qualify for a recognized holiday, an employee must have been employed by the Employer for at least thirty (30) working days during the twelve (12) calendar months immediately preceding the holiday and must have worked her last scheduled shift immediately following the holiday and her shift during the holiday if required to do so, except where the employee is absent due to substantiated illness or other reason acceptable to the Employer and such absence commenced not more than five (5) days prior to the holiday. 14.3 In respect of each recognized holiday for which an employee qualifies the Employer shall provide such employee with: a) the recognized holiday off with pay, or b) an alternative day off with pay in lieu, or c) a day’s pay in lieu 14.4 An employee shall be paid for a recognized holiday for which she is qualified at her regular rate of pay for her normal daily hours of work. 14.5 All part-time and casual employees shall receive Recognized Holiday pay at the rate of four point three percent (4.3%) of their regular earnings paid at their regular rate of pay in lieu of the Recognized Holiday and paid on each paycheque. 14.6 An employee scheduled to work on a recognized holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the holiday at one and one-half (1 ½X) times her regular rate of pay. 14.7 When a recognized holiday for which an employee is qualified falls during her vacation period, a day shall be added to her vacation period.
Recognized Holiday. When a recognized holiday falls within an employee's vacation period on a day that would be a normal working day, the employee shall not be charged with a day of vacation for that specific day.

  • Recognized Holidays 2201 For purposes of this Agreement, Recognized (paid) Holidays shall be New Year's Day (January 1st), Xxxxx Xxxx Day (la journée Xxxxx Xxxx), Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day (July 1st), the first Monday in August, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day (November 11th), Christmas Day (December 25th), and Boxing Day (December 26th); and any other statutory holidays declared by federal or provincial authority. 2202 Whenever a Recognized Holiday falls on her/his scheduled days off, it is understood that this day off in lieu shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that she/he receive an extra day’s pay at her/his basic rate of pay. 2203 A nurse required to work on a Recognized Holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1.50) times her/his basic pay and in addition it is understood that one (1) day off shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that she/he receive an extra day’s pay at her/his basic rate of pay. 2204 A day off given in lieu of a Recognized Holiday shall be added to a weekend off or to scheduled days off unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2205 The Employer agrees to assign time off as equitably as possible over Christmas and New Year's, endeavouring to grant each nurse as many consecutive days off as reasonably possible over either Christmas Day or New Year's Day. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with 1501. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days must be taken within the fiscal year in which they were earned.

  • Named Holidays 22.01 (a) Regular Full-time Employees shall be entitled to receive a day off with pay on or for the following Named Holidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day August Civic Holiday and any day proclaimed to be a holiday by: (i) The Government of the Province of Alberta; or (ii) The Government of Canada. Further, any day proclaimed by the government of the municipality to be a civic holiday for general observance by the municipal community in which the site is located.

  • Floating Holiday All employees except intermittent, emergency, and temporary employees shall also receive one (1) floating holiday each fiscal year of this Agreement. However, seasonal employees shall be eligible for only one (1) floating holiday per season and intermittent employees shall receive one (1) floating holiday each fiscal year of this Agreement if they complete ninety-one (91) working days in that fiscal year. Unless waived by the supervisor, the employee must request the floating holiday at least fourteen (14) calendar days in advance. The Appointing Authority may limit the number of employees that may be absent on any given day subject to the operational needs of the Appointing Authority. Any conflicts for requested holidays shall be resolved on the basis of State Seniority within the employee's work unit. The Appointing Authority shall make a reasonable effort to approve the requested holiday. Floating holidays may not be accumulated. An employee who has not requested the floating holiday by March 1 of each fiscal year or by thirty (30) calendar days prior to the end of an employee's season shall be scheduled to take a floating holiday on a day chosen by the Appointing Authority or be paid for the floating holiday in cash at the option of the Appointing Authority.
