Referrals to the Division of Rehabilitation Services. An individual who applies to PROVIDENCE CENTER INC for services and who has a physical or mental impairment which may result in an impediment to employment should, with their agreement, be referred to DORS if PROVIDENCE CENTER INC has a basic understanding of the individual’s skills, interests, and abilities and the individual has expressed a current interest in pursuing competitive integrated employment and understands what work is. Caution should be exercised in “screening out” applicants for referral to DORS without adequate information. Screening out cases without sufficient data, i.e., medical, vocational and other relevant data, may result in individuals with disabilities not receiving needed services. Referral Procedure.
