Reimbursement for the Cost of Education Achieved by the Faculty Member For coursework which began on or after January 1, 2019, faculty members who have achieved tenure are eligible for reimbursement by the District for up to a maximum eight (8) credit hours per fiscal year, with a lifetime maximum of forty-five (45) credit hours. The reimbursement rate is set at a maximum of $500.00, effective July 1, 2020 per credit hour. Only credit hours from regionally accredited colleges or universities will be reimbursed. Coursework that was fully or partially subsidized or paid by the District is not eligible for the reimbursement. Unit members must submit proof of payment for the course and a grade sheet verifying satisfactory completion to the Office of Human Resources no later than six (6) weeks after the completion of the course. Requests for reimbursement will be paid in the order in which they are received, as evidenced by email timestamp of the submission of proof of payment and grade sheet. Unit members may apply earned units for professional advancement as outlined in APPENDIX B. Academic year budget is $30,000 for 2022-2023. If there is a remaining balance, it is not rolled over to the next year.

If an employee is required to work one and one-half (1-1/2) hours before or beyond his/her normal working day or on overtime for emergency purposes or for extended work periods of five (5) or more hours in length on a day that is not the employee’s regular work day, and the employee is not exercising flexible work hours, the employee shall be reimbursed for the actual cost of a meal/food items not to exceed $18.00, plus tip (not to exceed 15%) and applicable taxes. Reimbursement is contingent upon the employee providing receipts.
