Rejection during Original Probation. An appropriate administrator may separate an employee during the probationary period without reason at any time. Two (2) weeks’ written notice prior to the expiration date of the probationary period shall be provided to an employee who is terminated during the probationary period. The period of notice may be shortened or eliminated in the event of the employee’s incompetence or gross misconduct which jeopardizes essential services. During a probationary period an employee will not be granted any merit-related increases.
