RELIEF IN A HIGHER. PAID CLASSIFICATION (Article VI) 104. Any employee directed to relieve another employee in a higher paid classification for less than one (1) hour on a shift shall be paid at the rate of the lower paid classification for all time worked on that shift. An employee directed to relieve another employee in a higher paid classification for one (1) hour or more but fewer than four (4) hours in a shift shall be paid at the rate of pay of the higher paid classification for all hours worked in the higher paid classification on that shift. Any employee directed to relieve another employee in a higher paid classification for four (4) or more hours on a shift shall receive the rate of the higher paid classification for all the time worked on that shift.

RELIEF IN A HIGHER. Classification Pay A worker who is assigned to work for a period of sixteen (16) consecutive hours, excluding meal periods, in a higher classification shall be paid at the nearest step in the higher classification which provides for an increase in pay. Such pay shall apply for the duration of the time assigned to work in the higher class.

  • APPOINTMENT IN A HIGHER CLASS 187. An employee or officer who is a permanent appointee following completion of the probationary period or six months of permanent service, and who is appointed to a position in a higher classification, either permanent or temporary, deemed to be promotive by the Department of Human Resources shall have his/her salary adjusted to that step in the promotive class as follows:

  • Work in a Higher Classification Any employee who is assigned by his/her supervisor to a vacant position in a higher grade for a period of more than thirty (30) days shall receive the salary rate for the higher position from the first day of the appointment, provided such assignment has the prior approval in writing of the Appointing Authority or his/her designee. The approval of the Appointing Authority or his/her designee shall take effect as of the first day of the assignment. Any assignment to a vacant position in a higher grade must be in writing to be valid.

  • Relief Sought The principal or immediate supervisor shall communicate his/her discussion to the aggrieved and his/her representative, in writing, within seven (7) workdays of receipt of the written grievance.

  • Relief Periods Employees will be allowed breaks within the shift without reduction in pay and without increasing the regular working hours as follows: Shift Length Breaks Up to, and including 5.5 hours 1 – 15 minute break More than 5.5 hours 2 – 15 minute breaks In addition to the above, any shift over five (5) hours will also have a half (½) hour unpaid lunch within the shift.

  • Promotion to a Higher Classification An employee who is promoted to a higher rated classification within the bargaining unit will be placed in the range of the higher rated classification so that he shall receive no less an increase in wage rate than the equivalent of one step in the wage rate of his previous classification (provided that he does not exceed the wage rate of the classification to which he has been promoted).
