Common use of Religious Exemptions Clause in Contracts

Religious Exemptions. Any employee of the City in a classification described in Section 1 hereof, who is a member of a bona fide religion, body or sect, which has historically held conscientious objections to joining or financially supporting a public employee organization and is recognized by the National Labor Relations Board to hold such objections to Union membership, shall, upon presentation of proof of membership and historical objection satisfactory to the City and the Union, be relieved of any obligation to pay the required service fee.

Any employee of the City CITY in a classification described in Section 1 Article I.I.1 hereof, who is a member of a bona fide religion, body or sect, which has historically held conscientious objections to joining or and financially supporting a public employee organization and is recognized by the National Labor Relations Board to hold such objections to Union the UNION membership, shall, upon presentation of proof of membership and historical objection satisfactory to the City CITY and the UnionUNION, be relieved of any obligation to pay the required service fee.
