Religious Exemption. Any employee of the City in a classification identified in Article I.A., who is a member of a bona fide religion, body or sect which has historically held conscientious objections to joining or financially supporting a public employee organization and is recognized by the National Labor Relations Board to hold such objections to Association membership, shall upon presentation of membership and historical objection be relieved of any obligation to pay the required service fee. The Association shall be informed in writing of any such requests.
Religious Exemption. Religious Exemption. Any exemptions made to this procedure because of a bona fide religious belief shall be made pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 4117.09 (C).
Religious Exemption. Should any employee be unable to pay their contribution to the Union based upon bona fide religious tenets or teachings of a church or religious body of which such employee is a member, such amount equal to their fair share shall be paid to a non-religious charitable organization mutually agreed upon by the employee affected and the Union. If the Union and the employee are unable to agree on the matter, such payments shall be made to a charitable organization from an approved list of charitable organizations. The employee will on a monthly basis furnish a written receipt to the Union that such payment has been made.
Religious Exemption. It is the intent of this Agreement that the provisions of this Article safeguard the right of employees to remain non-members based on bona fide religious tenets or teachings of a church or religious body of which such employee is a member. Any employee who claims a right of non- association based on bona fide religious tenets or teachings of a church or religious body of which such employee is a member shall provide written notice of that claim to the Union, and shall arrange with the Union to make alternative payments in lieu of the payments required for Union membership to a nonreligious charitable organization (a 501 (c) (3) organization as defined by statute) of the employee’s choice. Such employees shall pay an amount of money equal to the periodic dues and fees uniformly required under Section 1 of this Article. Failure to satisfy this alternative payment shall result in discharge from employment, pursuant to Section 2.3 of this Article. The Employer shall not be financially liable for any failure of the affected employee or the Union to remit payments to the nonreligious charity.
Religious Exemption. A nurse who is subject to the membership or payment requirements of this Article, but who is a member of and adheres to established and traditional tenets or teachings of a bona fide religion, body or sect which has historically held conscientious objections to joining or financially supporting labor organizations, shall not be required to continue membership in or financial support of the Association; except that such nurse shall contribute an amount equivalent to the Association dues to a nonreligious, tax-exempt charitable fund of his/her choice for the duration of the membership or payment requirements had they been applicable.
Religious Exemption. If an employee in a classification covered by this Agreement sincerely holds religious beliefs that include conscientious objections to joining or financially supporting a labor organization, the employee shall not be required to pay the service fee. In lieu of paying the service fee, the employee shall pay a charitable contribution equal to the service fee to one of the three following charitable organizations: (1) United Way of the Bay Area, (2) Community Health Charities of California (San Francisco/East Bay Branch), or (3) Local Independent Charities. The charitable contribution shall be paid in the amounts and at the times the service fee would otherwise be paid if the employee were not exempt under this paragraph. The employee shall provide the City and the Union with an acknowledgement of receipt from the charitable organization or other satisfactory evidence that the charitable contribution has been paid.
Religious Exemption. Employees who satisfy the Company to the extent that they declare in an affidavit that they are members of a religious organization whose doctrine prevents them as a matter of conscience from making financial contributions to an employee organization and that they will make contributions to a charitable organization equal to dues shall not be subject to Article 23.03.
Religious Exemption. 7.4.1 Any unit member not eligible for the exemption in Section 7.3 who is a member of a religious body whose traditional tenets or teachings include objections to joining or financially supporting employee organizations shall not be required to join or financially support the Association, but the unit member shall pay, in lieu of a service fee, sums equal to the unified dues to one of those charities listed in Section
