Common use of Religious Exemptions Clause in Contracts

Religious Exemptions. 290. Any employee of the SFMTA in a classification described in Section 24.3 hereof, who is a member of a bona fide religion, body or sect, which has historically held conscientious objections to joining or financially supporting a public employee organization and is recognized by the National Labor Relations Board to hold such objections to Union Transport Workers Union Local 250-A membership, shall, upon presentation of proof of membership and historical objection satisfactory to the SFMTA and the Union Transport Workers Union Local 250-A, be relieved of any obligation to pay the required service fee.
