Requests for Military Leave. a. Leave for Active or Reserve Duty Upon receipt of orders for active or reserve duty, and employee shall notify his or her supervisor, as well as Human Resources, as soon as possible, and submit a copy of the military orders to his or her supervisor and Human Resources (unless he or she is unable to do so because of military necessity or it is otherwise impossible or unreasonable. b. Leave for Initial Training and Other Related Obligations (e.g., fitness for service examinations). Employees will also be granted time off for initial military training (fourteen (14) days plus travel time) and other related obligations, such as for an examination to determine fitness to perform service. Employees shall advise their supervisor and Human Resources of their training schedule and/or other related obligations as far in advance as possible. Employees shall retain their military pay vouchers. Upon return from training, the employee shall submit his or her military pay voucher to the Human Resources Office; the College will pay an employee’s full salary, less base military pay, for the training period, not to exceed fourteen (14) days.
