Common use of Required Court Appearance Clause in Contracts

Required Court Appearance. One (1) day of absence per year with pay will be allowed for an employee to appear as a witness in court, as a litigant, or to respond to an official order from another governmental jurisdiction for reasons not brought about through the connivance or misconduct of the employee. The exception is to be made if the employee is acting in the capacity of witness at the request of the District legal counsel on behalf of the District. In such instances, the employee will be treated as if on paid status (i.e., as if attending a workshop).
