Responsibility for Adequacy of Test Preparation. Amended Substitute Senate Xxxx 55 has put in place a system that identifies in statute the expected state performance standards for school districts. The performance standards are based, in part, on specific percentages of students who pass proficiency tests. The Board and Association recognize the importance of adequate preparation for students who are required to pass proficiency tests. The adequacy of test preparation is recognized as a shared responsibility of teachers, administrators and the Board and a measure of classroom, building and District performance.

Responsibility for Adequacy of Test Preparation. Amended Substitute Senate Bill 55 has put in place a system that identifies in statute the expected state performance standards for school districts. The performance standards are based, in part, on specific percentages of students who pass proficiency tests. The Board and Association recognize the importance of adequate preparation for students who are required to pass proficiency tests. While the evaluation procedure prohibits the use of standardized or criterion-referenced testing as a means of evaluating members, the adequacy of test preparation is recognized as a shared responsibility of teachers, administrators and the Board and a measure of classroom, building and District performance.
