Common use of Rights/Obligations Clause in Contracts

Rights/Obligations. (a) The Union and the Employer agree that there must be mutual respect for the rights and obligations of the Union and the Employer and the representatives of each. (b) Employees covered by the Agreement are at all times entitled to act through a Union representative in taking any grievance action or following any alternate procedure under this Agreement. (c) Once a bargaining unit member files a grievance, the employee shall not be required to discuss the subject matter of the grievance without the presence of the Union representative if the employee elects to be represented by the Union.
