Common use of Room Assignment Clause in Contracts

Room Assignment. 7.1 Room assignments for new students are made by Residential Life staff. Roommates are matched according to the personal preference information submitted on the housing application. 7.2 The Resident understands and agrees that the housing contract is for a room assignment determined by the University, not a specific room. 7.3 Directory information can be given out in accordance with University policy. The complete policy can be found at xxxx://xxxxx.xxxxx.xxx. 7.4 Students who need a specific type of living environment due to a documented medical/health condition must register and apply for a housing accommodation through the Center for Students with Disabilities. It is strongly recommended that any such requests be made by July 1 for the fall semester, and December 1 for the spring semester. 7.5 The decision to reassign is made by the Executive Director of Residential Life or designee in consultation with other professional staff. Residential Life reserves the right to change a student’s housing assignment when deemed necessary, including, but not limited to, the following situations: 7.6 The designated occupancy of a room is determined by the University and may change at any time. If a vacancy occurs in a room, the remaining student(s) in that room should expect a new occupant at any time. Uncooperative or unwelcoming residents, including but not limited to residents who move their belongings into the vacant space, will be referred to the community standards process which may result in loss of housing privileges, probation, suspension, or expulsion.
