Common use of Safe Workplace Clause in Contracts

Safe Workplace. Consistent with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations: (a) No employee shall be required or expected to lift any patient without assistance, if in the opinion of the employee, the weight of the patient is excessive. (b) The Parties will instruct their representatives on Local Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees to review the matter of employee safety while travelling to or from their workplace. The Committees will make recommendations regarding the establishment of policies and/or procedures to eliminate or minimize such risk to employees. Where elimination of such risk is not reasonably possible, the Committees shall make recommendations to either manage or avoid the risk.
