Common use of Safe Workplace Clause in Contracts

Safe Workplace. The Employer is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthful workplace. The Employer shall comply with all federal, state, and local laws applicable to the safety and health of its employees. Employees shall not be required to perform work if they have a reasonable basis for believing the assignment would constitute a danger to their health and safety. The employee shall immediately contact a supervisor who shall make a determination with regard to safety. Upon the supervisor’s instruction and liability, the employee will perform the work but may refer the matter to the safety committee or risk management. All on-the-job injuries, no matter how slight, must be reported. Employees must immediately notify their supervisor if they are unable to work because of a work-related injury or illness.
