SAFELY SURRENDERED BABY LAW. 30.1 Contractor’s Acknowledgement of County’s Commitment to Safely Surrendered Baby Law The contractor acknowledges that the County places a high priority on the implementation of the Safely Surrendered Baby Law. The contractor understands that it is the County’s policy to encourage all County contractors to voluntarily post the County’s “Safely Surrendered Baby Law” poster, in Exhibit S, in a prominent position at the contractor’s place of business. The contractor will also encourage its subcontractors, if any, to post this poster in a prominent position in the subcontractor’s place of business. Information and posters for printing are available at xxx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxx. 30.2 Notice to Employees Regarding the Safely Surrendered Baby Law The contractor shall notify and provide to its employees, and shall require each subcontractor to notify and provide to its employees, information regarding the Safely Surrendered Baby Law, its implementation in Los Angeles County, and where and how to safely surrender a baby. SAFELY SURRENDERED BABY LAW. After the execution of this Agreement, SCE shall inform employees in its commercial telecommunications business unit of the existence of the Safely Surrendered Baby Law by posting a fact sheet about the law in a prominent location in the business offices of the commercial telecommunications business. The COUNTY’s Department of Children and Family Services will supply the CONTRACTOR with the poster to be used. 47.2 Notice to Employees Regarding the Safely Surrendered Baby Law CONTRACTOR shall notify and provide to its employees a fact sheet regarding the Safely Surrendered Baby Law, its implementation in Los Angeles County, and where and how to safely surrender a baby. SAFELY SURRENDERED BABY LAW. In accordance with County’s goal to encourage the safe surrender of an unwanted newborn(s) (i.e., a baby[ies] seventy-two [72] hours old or less) by a mother or person with lawful custody to a designated safe haven site (e.g., all hospitals with emergency rooms, County fire stations, County medical centers, etc.) without fear of litigation and to further ensure that no newborn baby is ever abandoned in Los Angeles County; Contractor shall agree to notify and provide to all of its officers, employees, and agents, information on the Safely Surrendered Baby Law (also known as the Newborn Abandonment Law or Safe Haven Law) and its implementation within Los Angeles County. Contractor shall request and obtain from Director information and notices for notifying its officers, employees, and agents, on County’s implementation of the Safely Surrendered Baby Law, as it now exist or may hereafter be amended, from time-to-time, but no less than on an annual basis.

Vendor will also encourage its subcontractors, if any, to post this poster in a prominent position in the subcontractor’s place of business.
