Common use of Salary Step Increments Clause in Contracts

Salary Step Increments. All regular unit members occupying a classified position will be advanced to the next higher step of the salary range assigned to the job classification on the person’s anniversary date providing: 6.4.3.1 The unit member served 75% of the required working days in the present class and range within the previous 12 months; 6.4.3.2 The unit member’s performance evaluation for the previous work year was satisfactory. Subsequent earned increments shall be granted on each anniversary date until the maximum step of the unit member’s salary range is reached. 6.4.3.3 The Chancellor reserves the right to withhold a salary step increment to any classified unit member who fails to make satisfactory improvement after having been notified in writing of areas needing improvement. A unit member receiving shift differential on the basis of his/her shift shall not lose such compensation if he/she is temporarily, for twenty (20) working days or less, assigned to a shift not entitled to such compensation.
