Common use of SCERS Clause in Contracts

SCERS. Upon separation of an employee eligible to accumulate sick leave credits for reasons of retirement, resignation and/or layoff, or death, such employee (or those entitled by law to the possession of the estate of a deceased employee) shall receive payment for thirty- three and one-third percent (33-1/3%) of the total sick leave credits accumulated (to the nearest full day) by the employee on the date of such retirement, resignation, layoff, or death.
