School Leaders. During the planning year, school leaders will be co-supervised by the WLC’s Executive Director and each participating district’s designated supervisor. Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, direct supervision will shift to the WLC, working in partnership with the district and WLC Council, which includes each district’s superintendent and city board member. After consultation with the district’s superintendent, the Executive Director will make hiring and other school leader personnel recommendations to the WLC Council. If approved by the WLC Council, the recommendation will be submitted to the district’s school board. The school board commits to accept recommendations that are not considered unreasonable. Any such action must comply with state law and applicable district collective bargaining agreements around administrative appointments and related policies.
