School Staffing. (1) Teacher-Librarian
School Staffing. Decisions on the voluntary in-transfer of teachers, the hiring of new teachers for “real” vacancies, and consistent with the terms of the current contract the choice of teachers from the excess pool will be made by a Subcommittee of the School Site Council composed of two teachers, one parent, one student in high schools and the Principal/Headmaster, with a majority required for decision and with the Principal/Headmaster voting with the majority. Teacher and parent representatives on this subcommittee may designate temporary replacement representatives appropriate to the position being filled. In addition to permanent teachers who apply for transfer, a School Site Council may consider a provisional teacher with a letter of reasonable assurance for a position which appears on the transfer list and that the provisional currently holds within that school. Decisions on the voluntary in-transfer of teachers may be made without regard to teacher seniority. In the event that the School Site Council is unable to reach a decision, the contract provisions in effect prior to the universal implementation of shared decision- making school-based management shall apply. After interviewing candidates for a vacancy at a school that results from the transfer process, or if a vacancy at a school occurs after the completion of the regular transfer process, a school may choose to advertise or re-advertise the position. BTU members on the School Site Council shall select the BTU representatives to serve on any screening committee convened to make recommendations for permanent appointments to administrative positions within the school consistent with screening committee guidelines and policies distributed by the School Department.
School Staffing. (1) Teacher-Librarian Each school shall have at least 0.5 qualified Teacher-librarian.
(2) Junior/Senior Kindergarten (a) If the maximum exceeds twenty four (24) students as of September 30 or as of December 15, the Board will take action to ameliorate the situation. If the class size is twenty five (25) or twenty six (26) students, an Educational Assistant will be assigned to the class. At twenty seven (27) students, and subject to the availability of accommodation, the action shall be the addition of a Teacher. In the event that there is no suitable accommodation, the Principal, in consultation with the Teacher(s) concerned, shall advise the Assistant Superintendent – Human Resources and Administrative Services to secure a Teacher or an Educational Assistant. (b) If the maximum in an integrated Junior Kindergarten/Senior Kindergarten class exceeds nineteen (19) students, the Board shall take action to ameliorate the situation. If the class size is Educational Assistant.
School Staffing. Concept shall make recommendations regarding staffing needs at the School, provide revisions to position descriptions, and provide sample employment contracts for all School Employees. The CMSA Board and its designees shall have the right to make a final determination as to all such recommendations, descriptions, and contracts.
School Staffing. Funds sufficient to pay for the salary, benefits and pension costs of professional educators will be allocated on a pro-rated basis to schools at the following minimum service levels:
School Staffing. In accordance with M.G.L. c. 71, §89, the School Principal shall have full authority over recruitment, selection, evaluation, discipline, demotion and promotion, retention and termination of all DSNCS staff members, including but not limited to administrators, teachers, counselors, social workers, nurses, special needs administrators, specialists, therapists and recording staff, paraprofessionals, clerical staff, food service staff and custodians. The School Principal shall have full authority over the direction of the work force; to determine an employee’s fitness for work; to establish and modify disciplinary policies and rules of conduct; to alter or to eliminate any customs, traditions and practices; and to enlarge, reduce, or discontinue a function, job responsibility, or position.
School Staffing. In all adjustments to the staffing of a given grade or subject, voluntary transfers shall be encouraged. If no volunteers wish to transfer, the transfer will move the fewest number of teachers and the least senior teacher(s) from the grade or subject. Consideration may be given to transfers within the school before transfers are made from other schools. The District and Association understand that the District may face situations where, as a result of a reduction of students, discontinuance of a program, or a decline in funding, a teacher’s regular teaching position may be in danger of being reduced or eliminated at a particular work location. The District agrees to take every reasonable action necessary to ensure that a teacher who is so displaced is placed in a position with an equivalent FTE as their previous position.
School Staffing. The Central Staffing Committee shall meet within one month of the signing of this Collective Agreement and will be responsible for the following tasks: develop terms of reference; construct guidelines for the composition and functions of the School Staffing Committees; update the school programs to be used for Administrative Time Calculations in Appendix Upon completion, the above shall be adopted, subject to approval by the Board and the Branch Affiliates.
School Staffing. The employees of MHY Family Services who work at Xxxxxxxx Academy meet the requirements as stipulated in the guidelines issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for private academy education institutions. The requirements include:
a) Employees must be of good moral character.
b) Employees must be at least 18 years of age.
c) Employees have been examined by a physician prior to employment, have tests done for tuberculosis and possess a statement from a physician that verifies the examination and the statement is on file with the private alternative education institution.
d) Employees have either citizenship in the United States or hold a United States Immigration Service visa that provides authorization for residency and employment within the United States.
e) Employees possess both a Criminal History Record clearance check as required by 24 P.S. section 6354 and the FBI required. All school staff will be required to take the Mandatory Reporter Training class. All school staff will be required to renew their three year clearances as required by law and retake the Mandatory Reporter Training class every five years. All staff will be required to sign the sexual misconduct/abuse disclosure release form as required by Act 168.
