SECTION 108. 39 Employees who change job classifications within the bargaining unit shall retain their hire dates in the 40 previous classification for a period of one (1) year, notwithstanding that they have acquired a new hire 41 date and a new classification. Except, in the instance of layoff; whereby the employee shall retain 42 seniority for three (3) years.
