Section 9.3.2. 43 An employee, including a birth mother who is no longer disabled from childbirth and recovery, will 44 be granted parental leave without pay to a maximum of twelve (12) weeks, which may be extended 45 by the District for up to a maximum of one (1) year, to begin at any time between the birth of the 46 employee’s child and one year thereafter. The employee shall request parental leave in writing to 47 Human Resources at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the date on which the leave is requested 48 to begin. Unpaid Family Medical Leave may be used during parental leave, by eligible employees, 49 to the extent it is available.
