Section 11.1. 38 The District shall have the right to discipline or discharge an employee for justifiable cause. The issue 39 of justifiable cause shall be resolved in accordance with the grievance procedure hereinafter provided. 40 The District agrees to follow a policy of progressive discipline which includes verbal warning/ 41 reprimand, written reprimand, suspension, and termination. Steps in the progressive discipline may be 42 by-passed if appropriate to the offense. 43

It shall also be done in a timely manner, 41 as soon as practicable after the incident(s) which led to disciplinary action. Progressive discipline shall 42 generally be followed as such: verbal reprimand, written reprimand, suspension and termination. Any 43 discipline that is in the file shall be removed from the personnel file after two (2) years at the request of 44 the employee, if no like incidents have occurred. Materials removed from an employee’s file in such a 45 manner shall not be considered in future disciplinary action.
