Seismic, Tornado and Hurricane Upgrades. 1. The installation of the following seismic upgrades, provided that such upgrades are not visible on the exterior or within character defining historic interiors: attic bracing, cross bracing on pier and post foundations; metal fasteners; collar ties; gussets; tie downs; strapping and anchoring of mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment; concealed anchoring of furniture; installation of plywood diaphragms beneath first floor joists, above top floor ceiling rafters, and on roofs; and automatic gas shut off valves.
