Common use of Sergeants Clause in Contracts

Sergeants. If two (2) or more Bargaining Unit Members are promoted to Sergeant on the same date, for purpose of breaking the tie seniority will be determined by the length of time the member was employed as a deputy and/or contract City Law Enforcement Officer. The more time employed as a deputy and/or contract City Law Enforcement Officer would have more seniority. If both sergeants were promoted on the same date and were deputies and/or contract City Law Enforcement Officers for the same period of time, the lowest CCN number constitutes the senior member.
