Common use of Settlement of Employee Grievances Clause in Contracts

Settlement of Employee Grievances. The Association and the Board recognize their responsibility for the prompt and orderly disposition of grievances that arise out of the interpretation, application, or alleged breach of any of the provisions of this agreement. The Board and Association agree to attempt to settle all grievances at the lowest possible level. To this end, the parties agree that the provisions of this article shall provide the means of settlement of all such grievances, provided, however, that nothing herein will be construed as limiting the right of any employee to have a complaint adjusted without the intervention of the Association so long as the adjustment is not inconsistent with the terms of the agreement. The employee shall discuss his or her grievance with his or her immediate supervisor and if the problem cannot be resolved at this level, the grievance shall be processed in the following steps:
