Common use of Shift Premium Clause in Contracts

Shift Premium. 27.01 An employee shall receive a shift premium of $2.50 per hour for all hours worked, including overtime hours where half (1/2) or more of the hours are regularly scheduled between 1800 hours (6:00 pm) and 0600 hours (6:00 am).

Where more than fifty percent (50%) of the regularly scheduled hours worked fall within this period, the fifty-two cents (52 cents) per hour premium shall be paid for all regularly scheduled hours worked, including overtime hours where half (1/2) or more of the hours are regularly scheduled between 1800 hours (6:00 pm) and 0600 hours (6:00 am).
