Shop Steward. A. There shall be at all times one shop xxxxxxx designated by the Union and one alternate shop xxxxxxx designated by the Union, authorized to act in the absence of the shop xxxxxxx. All references herein to responsibilities and duties of the shop xxxxxxx shall apply to the alternate shop xxxxxxx in the absence of the shop xxxxxxx. B. Shop Xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of pay for the time spent during working hours in the performance of his duties, provided the Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxxx has approved his deviation from his work in advance. The Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxx shall not withhold such permission unreasonably when it does not interfere with the normal routine of work. The Employer shall recognize an employee as Shop Xxxxxxx only after having received written notice of his/her selection or designation by the Union. Under no circumstances shall the Shop Xxxxxxx be discriminated against by the Employer. C. The authority of the Shop Xxxxxxx and Alternate Shop Xxxxxxx so designated by the Union shall be limited to, and shall not exceed, the following duties and activities: 1. The investigation and presentation of grievances in accordance with the provisions of this collective bargaining agreement; 2. The collection of dues when authorized by appropriate Local Union action; 3. The transmission of such messages and information which shall originate with, and are authorized by the Local Union or its officers; provided such messages and information (a) have been reduced to writing; or (b) if not reduced to writing, are of a routine nature and do not involve work stoppages, slowdowns, refusal to handle goods or any other interference with the Employer’s business. 4. The representation, at the request of any employee covered hereunder, in discussion initiated by the Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxx, concerning the work performance of said employee, or any other matter in which an employee feels he/she needs such representation, subject to paragraph B above. 5. Any abuse of the provisions of paragraph C4 above, by the Shop Xxxxxxx shall, in the first instance be discussed with a representative of the Local Union D. Neither the Shop Xxxxxxx nor any shop committee or group of employees covered by this Agreement is authorized to cause or engage in any strike, slowdown or stoppage in the place of business of the Employer nor order the discharge of any employee. E. The Employer and the Union recognize these limitations upon the authority of the Shop Xxxxxxx and the Alternate Shop Xxxxxxx. The Employer, in so recognizing such limitations, shall have the authority to impose proper discipline, including discharge, in the event the Shop Xxxxxxx has taken unauthorized strike action, slowdown or work stoppage in violation of this Agreement.

Shop Steward. A. There Union shall have the right to appoint one Shop Xxxxxxx who shall be granted superseniority for any purpose including layoff, rehire, bidding and job preference in accordance with applicable law.

The Shop Xxxxxxx shall suffer have his or her daily working hours reduced by a maximum of one (1) hour with no loss of pay for or other benefit when it is necessary to expend time on the time spent administration of this Agreement during the Shop Xxxxxxx'x regular working hours in the performance of his dutiesfor such reasons including, provided the Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxxx has approved his deviation from his work in advance. The Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxx shall but not withhold such permission unreasonably when it does not interfere with the normal routine of work. The Employer shall recognize an employee as Shop Xxxxxxx only after having received written notice of his/her selection or designation by the Union. Under no circumstances shall the Shop Xxxxxxx be discriminated against by the Employer.
C. The authority of the Shop Xxxxxxx and Alternate Shop Xxxxxxx so designated by the Union shall be limited to, and shall not exceed, participation in grievance discussions with representatives of the following duties and activities:
1College. The investigation Shop Xxxxxxx may participate in grievance discussions and/or arbitration proceedings as authorized by this Agreement without loss of pay or other benefit.
E. The Union shall also have the right to appoint Assistant Shop Stewards to administer its internal affairs and presentation of grievances in accordance with concerns subject to the understanding that no such Assistant Shop Xxxxxxx shall have any rights or standing under this Agreement.
F. Subject to the provisions of this collective bargaining agreement;

The Municipality will recognize that the Business Manager of IBEW Local 1547 retains the right to appoint and dismiss all shop stewards in accordance with the Union rules and regulations. There will be one full-time non-working chief xxxxxxx and up to six part-time working assistant stewards. The Municipality shall recognize the shop stewards as the duly-appointed Union representatives of the employees. The Union will notify the Municipality as to the identity of all shop stewards. All shop stewards shall make every effort in cooperation with the Utility Manager, Department Director or duly-authorized representative to correct violations and infractions of this Agreement by either covered employees or management personnel. B. The bargaining unit member appointed to the chief xxxxxxx position shall be a full-time FLSA exempt position. The non-exempt position converting to the exempt position must occur at the beginning of a pay period. The salary will be 128% of the Base Utility Wage Rate (plus any eligible pay enhancements) based on 2080 hours per year. The Municipality shall pay all wages and benefits as required by the existing Agreement and, upon receipt of billing from the Municipality, IBEW Local 1547 shall reimburse the Municipality for one-half (1/2) of the chief xxxxxxx'x wages and benefits, as well as one-half of any acting chief shop xxxxxxx'x wages and benefits. The chief xxxxxxx will normally observe the standard work week of Monday through Friday. The Chief Shop Xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss be subject to all terms and conditions of the Agreement, except the provisions that pertain to an hourly employee such as, but not limited to, all overtime, call-out, ten-hour breaks, pay for premiums, and additional meal period provisions. Retirement, money purchase, the time spent during working hours in the performance of his dutieshardship and benevolent fund, provided the Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxxx has approved his deviation from his and any other similar contributions will be based on 40 hour work in advance. The Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxx shall not withhold such permission unreasonably when it does not interfere with the normal routine of work. The Employer shall recognize an employee as Shop Xxxxxxx only after having received written notice of his/her selection or designation by the Union. Under no circumstances shall the Shop Xxxxxxx be discriminated against by the Employerweek.

3. The transmission of such messages and information which shall originate with, and are authorized by the Local Union or its officers; provided such messages and information (a) have been reduced to writing; or (b) if not reduced to writing, are of a routine nature and do not involve work stoppages, slowdowns, refusal to handle goods or time any other interference with the Employer’s business.
4. The representation, at the request of any employee covered hereunder, in discussion initiated by the Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxx, concerning the work performance of said employee, or any other matter in which an employee feels he/she needs such representation, subject to paragraph B above.
5. Any abuse of the provisions of paragraph C4 above, by the Shop Xxxxxxx shall, in the first instance be discussed with a representative of the Local Union
D. Neither the Shop Xxxxxxx nor any shop committee or group of employees covered defined by this Agreement is authorized required to cause or engage in be convened and the chief xxxxxxx shall have total authority for the assembling of all Union representatives from the bargaining unit required to form any strikesuch committees. The chief xxxxxxx also has the right to assemble any joint committee with twenty-four (24) hours’ notice to the appropriate division manager.
D. The chief xxxxxxx shall be afforded private office space and a private, slowdown or stoppage in unmonitored outside telephone line with voice mail capability. The cost of such items shall be paid by the place of business of the Employer nor order the discharge of any employeeMunicipality.
E. The Employer chief xxxxxxx shall retain regular employment status and continue to accrue all benefits. Additionally, the chief xxxxxxx may return to their former regular position or a similar position within the same classification and rate of pay following a fifteen (15) calendar day advance written notification to the Union and the Union recognize these limitations upon Municipality. This shall not limit the authority ability of the Shop Xxxxxxx and the Alternate Shop Xxxxxxx. The Employer, chief xxxxxxx to bid in so recognizing such limitations, shall have the authority to impose proper discipline, including discharge, in the event the Shop Xxxxxxx has taken unauthorized strike action, slowdown or work stoppage in violation accordance with other provisions of this Agreement. The chief xxxxxxx will be the last employee laid off within the work unit provided they are qualified to perform the remaining work.
F. The full-time chief xxxxxxx shall continue to receive chief xxxxxxx pay while they are on leave and another shop xxxxxxx has been temporarily appointed acting chief xxxxxxx.

Retirement, money purchase, the time spent during working hours in the performance of his dutieshardship and benevolent fund, provided the Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxxx has approved his deviation from his and any other similar contributions will be based on 40 hour work in advance. The Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxx shall not withhold such permission unreasonably when it does not interfere with the normal routine of work. The Employer shall recognize an employee as Shop Xxxxxxx only after having received written notice of his/her selection or designation by the Union. Under no circumstances shall the Shop Xxxxxxx be discriminated against by the Employerweek.
C. The authority of the Shop Xxxxxxx and Alternate Shop Xxxxxxx so designated chief xxxxxxx shall be given twenty-four (24) hours’ notice by the Union shall be limited to, and shall not exceed, Municipality prior to the following duties and activities:
1. The investigation and presentation of grievances in accordance with the provisions of this collective bargaining agreement;
2. The collection of dues when authorized by appropriate Local Union action;
3. The transmission of such messages and information which shall originate with, and are authorized by the Local Union or its officers; provided such messages and information (a) have been reduced to writing; or (b) if not reduced to writing, are of a routine nature and do not involve work stoppages, slowdowns, refusal to handle goods or time any other interference with the Employer’s business.
4. The representation, at the request of any employee covered hereunder, in discussion initiated by the Public Works Manager or General Xxxxxx, concerning the work performance of said employee, or any other matter in which an employee feels he/she needs such representation, subject to paragraph B above.
5. Any abuse of the provisions of paragraph C4 above, by the Shop Xxxxxxx shall, in the first instance be discussed with a representative of the Local Union
D. Neither the Shop Xxxxxxx nor any shop committee or group of employees covered defined by this Agreement is authorized required to cause or engage in be convened and the chief xxxxxxx shall have total authority for the assembling of all Union representatives from the bargaining unit required to form any strikesuch committees. The chief xxxxxxx also has the right to assemble any joint committee with twenty-four (24) hours’ notice to the appropriate division manager.
D. The chief xxxxxxx shall be afforded private office space and a private, slowdown or stoppage in unmonitored outside telephone line with voice mail capability. The cost of such items shall be paid by the place of business of the Employer nor order the discharge of any employeeMunicipality.
E. The Employer chief xxxxxxx shall retain his regular employment status and continue to accrue all benefits. Additionally, the chief xxxxxxx may return to his formertheir former regular position or a similar position within the same classification and rate of pay following a fifteen (15) calendar day advance written notification to the Union and the Union recognize these limitations upon Municipality. This shall not limit the authority ability of the Shop Xxxxxxx and the Alternate Shop Xxxxxxx. The Employer, chief xxxxxxx to bid in so recognizing such limitations, shall have the authority to impose proper discipline, including discharge, in the event the Shop Xxxxxxx has taken unauthorized strike action, slowdown or work stoppage in violation accordance with other provisions of this Agreement. The chief xxxxxxx will be the last employee laid off within the work unit provided he/she is they are qualified to perform the remaining work.
F. The full-time chief xxxxxxx shall continue to receive chief xxxxxxx premium pay while en he/she is they are on leave and another shop xxxxxxx has been temporarily appointed acting chief xxxxxxx.
