Common use of Shop Steward Clause in Contracts

Shop Steward. A. The Union shall have the right to ap­ point a Shop Xxxxxxx in each store, whose duties shall be to report any irregularities to the Union Office. In no instance shall the Shop Xxxxxxx be discriminated against for discharg­ ing such duties, provided such duties do not interfere with the regular performance of his work for the Employer. B. A Shop Xxxxxxx may be transferred only after two (2) weeks written notice to the Xxxxxxx and the Union, except in cases of promotion or with the consent of the Xxxxxxx or the Union to the transfer. C. It is understood that the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be a full-time employee and shall be the last to be laid off in the store where he is employed, provided he is capable of perform­ ing the available work. The Union shall fur­ nish to the Employer a complete list of Shop Stewards which shall be amended from time to time as may be necessary.
