Common use of Short Duration Union Leaves Clause in Contracts

Short Duration Union Leaves. It is recognized that there will be occasions when leaves of short duration (i.e. less than sixty days) for specific requirements related to Union business with the Employer may be necessary. Requests for such leave will be made on not less than two (2) weeks written notice to the Employer where practicable. Such leaves shall be without salary and benefits and without loss of seniority. Requests for such leaves may be subject to operational requirements but will not be unreasonably withheld.
