Union Leaves. Employees on Union Leaves will be treated as provided in Article 18 (Q) while working on Union leave.
Union Leaves. The Union shall be granted a combined total of eighty (80) hours leave per year with pay to attend conferences, conventions, workshops, and other meetings of the local, state, and/or national Unions, PROVIDED that no member shall take more than forty (40) hours total per year. Employees shall be released from regularly assigned duties under the following provisions:
A. That such release time is requested in writing to the President with a copy to the employee's immediate supervisor by the Union,
B. If it is determined that a substitute is needed, the Union will reimburse the College for the cost of substitute(s) compensation for each such release within thirty (30) days after billing,
C. That the written request will be made by the Union at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the requested leave to give maximum advance notification to the College when release time is needed.
D. And the Union President shall determine which members will be allowed to use Union leave.
Union Leaves. (a) Short-term occasional Leaves The parties recognize that from time to time a sessional lecturer may have to be released from regular duties to attend a union activity. Short-term occasional leaves will be granted provided the unit administrator:
(i) receives timely notification
(ii) is satisfied that the sessional lecturer has put arrangements in place that will ensure the absence will not have a negative effect on the adequacy of the learning experience or reduce the effectiveness of a probationary or qualifying period. When a qualified replacement is required, the Union will reimburse the unit for all of the replacement costs (salary and benefits).

Union Leaves. Leaves of absence, without payment of wages, insofar as the operation of the Commission’s system will permit, shall be granted to a maximum of three duly appointed Union delegates to attend any particular union related Conventions when such leave is applied for to Management in writing by the Union at least two weeks in advance, if possible, but in any event, not less than three days in advance. The benefits of the Union delegates will be paid provided the delegates earn wages in the calendar month. The above Article shall apply for a maximum of four conventions per calendar year.
Union Leaves. (a) Should an employee be appointed to a full-time position with the Union, they may apply for a leave of absence for a three (3) month period. During the period of time they are on leave, their seniority shall continue with the Employer and their leave of absence may be renewed for three (3) terms of three (3) months each.
(b) Upon Union’s request, the Employer shall grant Union stewards up to four (4) days’ time off with pay per calendar year to attend training or conference provided by the Union.
(c) Upon Union’s request, the Employer shall grant Union Health & Safety Committee up to four (4) days’ time off with pay per calendar year to attend training or conference provided by the Union.
Union Leaves. Any employee in the bargaining unit who is either elected or appointed to a full time position or office in the Union whose duties require the employee’s absence from work shall be granted a leave of absence for a period up to three (3) years. The Union leave of absence may be extended beyond three (3) years, upon request by the employee, at the option of the Board. No more than one (1) Union member shall be on leave of absence for Union activity at any one time.
Union Leaves. 1. Upon request of the Union, the District shall grant a Union Leave of Absence to Union members, provided that a written notice is given at least fourteen (14) days in advance. Such Leaves of Absence shall be granted:
1.1 without pay;
1.2 without loss of seniority;
1.3 with eligibility to continue group benefits as contained in this Agreement, provided the employee maintains the premium cost;
1.4 with guarantee of reemployment to the job vacated or one of equal pay.
2. Such leaves shall be for a specific period of time which was agreeable to the parties.
3. The District’s obligation under this Article shall cease upon fifteen (15) days written notice to the Union should the terms of the Leave of Absence be violated by the member on such Leave of Absence.
4. The Union agrees that it shall not request that a Leave of Absence be granted for a period of time when such absence would seriously affect the operation of the District.
Union Leaves. An employee will be granted short-term union leave from employer-scheduled shifts provided the employer's supervisor receives sufficient notice. Union leave of a week or more must be made to the employee's supervisor in writing at least 2 weeks in advance. The leave will be granted subject to operational requirements. The Union will reimburse the University for replacement costs if a replacement is required.
