Common use of Sick Leave and Layoff Clause in Contracts

Sick Leave and Layoff. 16.7.1 An employee who, on account of sickness, is unable to report for work when recalled shall be entitled to use available sick leave credits for days on which he would have been required to work. 16.7.2 An employee who is on sick leave when layoff occurs shall have his sick leave pay suspended. If, however, an employee is hospitalized at the date of layoff, he shall be entitled to additional sick leave pay for the period of hospitalization up to a maximum of fifteen (15) days.
