Sick Leave Pay Eligibility Requirements. A. The employee must meet the definition of a regular employee. B. During the first six (6) months of employment, employees are not eligible to accumulate sick leave on a per pay period basis. After completion of six (6) months of service as a regular employee, the employee's sick leave account will be credited with six (6) days of sick leave which is then available for use, subject to the provisions of this Article. C. Sick leave shall be applicable only if the employee is ill on a regularly scheduled workday. D. The supervisor may require a written physician's/provider's verification of illness sufficient to justify the employee's absence from work for the period claimed.
