Common use of Skills and Duties Clause in Contracts

Skills and Duties. An employee at this level performs work to the extent of their skills competence and training. The employee will acquire skills both, formal and informal, over time and with experience, and will undertake indicative tasks and duties within the scope of skills the employee possesses. An employee at this level may be part of a self-directed team and may be responsible for the guidance and direction of one or more employees working at BE01 level or below An employee at this level: (1) can interpret plans and drawings relevant to their functions; (2) assists with the provision of on-the-job training; (3) assumes responsibility for allocating tasks within the area of the employees skill competence and training; (4) has some responsibility for the order and purchase of materials within defined parameters; (5) ability to work in a safe manner so as not to cause self injury or injury to others; (6) works individually under general supervision; (7) is able to sequence functions relevant to other employees’ work; (8) can complete paperwork required to ensure projects are completed; and (9) applies quality control techniques to the employee’s own work and the work of other employees.
