WORKPLACE REFORM. (a) The Union acknowledge that the Department may wish to modify or alter local staffing arrangements in accordance with local needs. Any such flexibility in staffing arrangements will occur in accordance with the following parameters: (i) funds allocated to staff must be used for the employment of staff; (ii) changes to staffing mix shall only occur in the event of a permanent vacancy; (iii) variations to the staffing mix will only occur following endorsement by the LCC and the majority of the employees at the school that are affected and their Union. Variations must also be endorsed by the regional human resources practitioner; (iv) Where the proposed changes may negatively impact on Teacher Aide hours the Union will be consulted; and (v) As part of the workplace reform there will be school level consultation.

WORKPLACE REFORM. ‌ 54.1 The parties have implemented the metal/electrical trades national competency standards in accordance with the Competency Standards Implementation Guide (Published June 1996), Metal and Engineering Training Package (National Code Identifier MEM05, published 1 December 2005) and the National Metal and Engineering Competency Standards (published 1996), or subsequent amendments thereto where agreed between the parties. To the extent of any inconsistency between these documents and this Agreement, this Agreement will take precedence. 54.2 The parties will during the life of this Agreement implement the building trades national competency standards, the structure having been built around and having regard to the metal/electrical trades national competency standards, as described at subclause 54.1, in accordance with Schedule C – Competency Based Classification Structure. 54.3 Competency Based Standards The Competency Standards will be implemented on the following basis: (a) Assessors (i) An assessment may be undertaken by any accredited assessor recognised, from time to time, by the Employer and Union. Such recognition may be withdrawn at any time by either party. (ii) The Employer will endeavour to ensure that sufficient employees (to include trade and managerial staff employed by the Employer) are trained at any time, to meet the assessment requirements of the Employer. (iii) In the event of the parties being in dispute regarding the Employer unreasonably withholding or withdrawing recognition of an accredited assessor employed by the Employer, the dispute may be determined through Clause 64 - Dispute Resolution.
WORKPLACE REFORM. Agreed Parameters for Workplace Reform Participative Management and Work Organization All employees will be organized so that they work in quality driven, broadly skilled work teams to perform a wide range of functions. Xxxxxx Bros and the Employees will xxxxxx a work environment where all continuously strive for improvement in what is done and how it is done, in order to optimise value through improvement in productivity and quality as well as to enhance quality of the Employees’ working life.

(a) In the event of a reduction in a school’s allocation of enrolment-based hours, a reduction process will apply as follows: (i) mandatory group consultation in accordance with clause 2.3, with all permanent Teacher Aides; (ii) voluntary reductions in permanent hours for genuine work-life balance reasons only; (iii) voluntary transfer anywhere within the State where other hours are available (at no cost to department); (iv) reduction of Temporary and Casual hours; (v) required transfer within 50 minutes from place of residence; (vi) maintenance of permanent hours through the reallocation of Other Hours; (vii) redundancy where Significant Change occurs (i.e. more than 50% of a Teacher Aides permanent hours). (b) A schools Day 8 enrolment-driven hours can be reduced if a permanent Teacher Aide(s) relinquishes these hours for work-life balance reasons, or elects to transfer anywhere within the State or undertake work across a number of schools within reasonable travel time of their current work site or home. (c) Should no Employee voluntarily reduce their hours for genuine work-life balance reasons or transfer within the State, the required transfer process as outlined in clause 5.2 will apply.
WORKPLACE REFORM. 25.1 Where ESTA intends to carry out a substantial change in operations, including: a) a material change to the manner in which work is organised and/or where work is performed; and/or b) the introduction of new or upgraded equipment; and/or c) the need for new skills and/or responsibilities and/or retraining or redeployment; and/or d) substantial variations to shift rosters, total working hours, total number of working days or rest breaks quantum, the employees affected and their Union will be advised in writing as soon as practiceable. 25.2 Thereafter, appropriate consultation, including on termination, change and redundancy, will occur between the parties in order to ensure that the reforms are introduced in a smooth manner and employee and ESTA interests and concerns are addressed. 25.3 The following process will apply for any substantial variation to shift rosters, total working hours, total number of working days, or rest breaks quantum: a) variation will be by agreement with the majority (50%+1) of employees affected. b) any proposed variation must give regard to the conditions contained in Clause 12Hours of Work and be discussed between the parties, with a view to reaching agreement, prior to being put to a vote. c) the process for conducting, returning and counting the ballots shall be agreed between the parties to this Agreement for each ballot. 25.4 It is not intended that variations to normal day-to-day rostering arrangements for individual employees be included in this provision.
WORKPLACE REFORM. Employers and employees covered by this Agreement may - reach agreement to introduce workplace reform to meet the requirements of the health service and the aspirations of the employees concerned.
WORKPLACE REFORM. 35.1 The parties are committed to achieving the necessary cultural change to improve productivity, efficiency, flexibility and quality. 35.2 An objective of the parties is to ensure that no defective products are progressed, and that the final product is delivered to the customer 'on time, within specification and in full. In order to ensure this, each employee has a responsibility to the level of his/her training of: i) monitoring, measuring and recording of process conditions, either manually or using computers as required; ii) carrying out necessary in-line testing as required. 35.3 A consultative committee shall be formed, comprising equal numbers of management, employees and their representatives. The committee shall advise the Company on matters arising out of implementation of this Agreement and to ensure that barriers to equal opportunities for female employees are identified and addressed. Any disputation arising from matters discussed will be handled through the Disputes Procedure. 35.4 It is agreed between the parties that upon accepting this Agreement, there shall be no demarcation on the Site. Under normal circumstances it is not an intention of the Company for staff to perform work normally carried out by employees covered by this Agreement. 35.5 The process of continuous improvement will be achieved through a commitment by all parties to be involved in small group improvement activities to be established throughout the site. This will allow employees and supervisors/managers to work together in identifying and addressing issues related to productivity, efficiency, flexibility and quality.

WORKPLACE REFORM. 30.1.1 A committee comprising of equal numbers of representatives from management and employees shall be appointed with the purpose of overseeing workplace reform and formal training programs as a means of increasing flexibility and efficiency within the enterprise. 30.1.2 This committee may also hear employee grievances about matters relating to training and grading. 30.1.3 The committee shall meet regularly and not less frequently than once every three months.
