Special Leaves of Absence Without Pay. General Provisions (1) Is medically incapacitated to perform the duties of the position. (2) Desires to engage in a relevant course of study, which will enhance the employee’s value to the County. (3) Takes a leave of absence pursuant to the federal Family Medical Leave Act, the California Family Rights Act, and/or Pregnancy Disability Leave provision under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA). (4) For any reason considered appropriate by the appointing authority and the Director of Human Resources.
