Specification of Outcomes Required Service Specifications. Prison Overview: HMP Whitemoor is part of the High Security Estate and sits on the outskirts of March Cambridgeshire. In view of the High Security aspect of the establishment, it is recommended that a site visit takes place as part of the tendering process Visitor Centre Delivery Management: It is the responsibility of the contracted provider to manage the resources and staff in both the visits centre and the Tea Bars operating in both the visits centre and the main visits hall. Objective: The contracted provider shall ensure that the following services are available for all social visitors to HMP Whitemoor. There are decent, indoor facilities with toilets; seating and baby changing facilities which visitors may access when visiting. The visitors’ area caters for the needs of children and promotes a positive and safe experience. A range of information must be provided on support services such as, but not limited to, debt advice, employment and skills, children’s services, drug / alcohol support, housing, health and wellbeing. This should be in the form of literature, posters and where possible verbal signposting. Visitors receive understandable basic information on support services for families and signposting to specialist services. Information must be available and a range of support services must be offered which reflect the needs of BME visitors, women, children, carers and non-English speaking visitors. Literature is also appropriate to the needs of those with low literacy skills. A well run and properly equipped centre which is open on visiting days at 12.15 and remains open until 17.00. Visitors will be welcomed and booked in Visitors will be provided with information on the visits process at HMP Whitemoor. Provision will be made for the secure storage of personal possessions and for the anonymous disposal of illicit items. The provider will offer refreshment facilities which provide healthy and reasonably priced refreshments within the visitors centre for families and friends who are visiting prisoners.
