Standby Pay. Employees who, as part of the duties of their positions, are assigned in writing by the Chief of the Department or designee, to standby service while off duty to be instantly available shall have a paging device or cell phone made available to use during the period of standby service. Such employees shall be paid an amount equivalent to two (2) hours of their regular rate of pay for each assignment on a regularly scheduled work day, and three (3) hours of their regular rate of pay for each assignment on a regularly scheduled day off.
