Common use of Subpoena and Jury Leave Clause in Contracts

Subpoena and Jury Leave. 8 1. If called as a witness, under subpoena in court in an action not involving any of the 9 parties hereto or in which the employee is a party, an employee will be granted 10 additional paid leave of absence sufficient to appear in response to the subpoena. 11 Concomitantly, an employee called for jury duty shall receive a paid leave of 12 absence for the days he/she is required to serve, up to a maximum of thirty (30) 13 calendar days. An employee called to court as above but released for part of a day, 14 shall report immediately to his or her supervisor and serve for the remainder of the 15 work day. Any fee, except travel allowance, paid the employee for such service 16 shall be transferred to the Saddleback Valley Unified School District.
