Common use of Subpoenas, Summons and Voluntary Appearances Clause in Contracts

Subpoenas, Summons and Voluntary Appearances. When an employee is required to miss time from the regularly scheduled work week because of a subpoena, summons or volun- tary appearance to testify in a legal matter (other than approved Company related matters), the employee must give adequate notice to his/her supervisor. An hourly employee may take time off as paid vacation or as unpaid excused absence. In case an employee is sub- poenaed by the Company as a witness, he/she shall be reimbursed for all time lost and expenses incurred.
