Summer Teaching. Any full-time faculty member who teaches in the Summer Sessions I, II or III shall receive the greater of one and eighty five one hundredths (1.85%) percent of his/her annual base salary for every one (1) semester hour taught during a summer session or the faculty member’s overload rate. In addition, full-time faculty who teach during the summer sessions shall be eligible for a bonus payment. Such bonus payment shall be determined each year as follows: For each three and three quarters (3.75%) percent increase in Student Semester Hours (SSH), provided there is an accompanying increase of one-half "person" in average class size (defined as SSH as a ratio of faculty hours), each faculty member teaching in the Summer Session shall receive a bonus equal to fifty ($50) dollars per credit taught in the combined Summer Sessions. The increase in SSH and average class size shall be determined based on a comparison of the SSH and average class size for the entire Summer Session (Summer I, II and III) as compared to the prior year Summer Sessions. However, the SSH and average class size for the 1991 Summer Sessions shall be the base year should the SSH or average class size for any Summer Session fall below the 1991 Summer Session levels.
