SUPPLEMENTARY COMPASSIONATE/BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. (i) Where an illness to an immediate family member or equivalent has been diagnosed as life-threatening or terminal, and the employee has exhausted their paid leave pursuant to 17.14 and the ill immediate family member or equivalent has not recovered, the employee may borrow up to an additional three thirty-fifths of paid bereavement leave entitlement to attend to the ill individual. Should the death of the individual occur subsequently, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave paid at full salary of up to the unused portion of their entitlement pursuant to 17.15.
