Taking of compassionate leave. i) Compassionate leave can be taken as either a single, unbroken period of up to two (2) days or any separate periods agreed upon by the employer and employee. ii) If an employee is entitled to compassionate leave because the employee’s immediate family member of member of the employee’s household has contracted or developed a personal illness or sustained a personal injury, the employee is entitled to start the leave at any time while the illness or injury persists, subject to meeting the documentation requirements in 2(g).
