TEACHERS - CLASS SIZE. The Board agrees to attempt to observe within reasonable limits no more than a 26:1 student teacher ratio subject to space availability, installation of experimental or innovative programs, budgetary limitations and availability of teachers or necessary funds. All final decisions on class sizes (staffing ratios) will be made by the Board acting in the best interests of the pupils and community-at-large and will not be subject to challenge through the grievance procedures. A stipend of $30.00 per student over a maximum of 26 students in a homeroom/self-contained classroom shall be paid to the self-contained classroom teacher, per month.
