Temporary Appointments to a Non-Bargaining Unit Classification. 13 When an employee is temporarily appointed to a non-bargaining unit 14 classification, written verification of the temporary appointment will be placed in the 15 employee’s personnel file and the employee will be notified of the appointment in 16 writing. The following provisions will apply: 17 A. The employee’s salary will be set according to the Personnel Rules 18 governing promotions to exempt positions; 19 B. The employee’s health and welfare benefits plan will not change; 20 C. The employee’s accrual and use of paid leave will be governed by the 21 rules applying to permanent employees in the exempt classification; 22 D. The employee has the right to return to his or her bargaining unit position 23 at the end of the appointment without loss of seniority; and 24 E. The employee will pay Union dues or such alternatives as are 25 provided by Article 5, and will continue to be represented by the Union.
